There is something really weird going on in the GOP right now.
One would think that Donald Trump and Joe Biden would have the most money spent on them in attack ads.
That, however, is not the case.
Why Ron?
According to a recent report, it is Ron DeSantis that is leading the way in attack ads against, him, and it is about to get worse.
Donald Trump just laid out close to $30 million in ad buys, and about $23 million of that is going to slam Ron DeSantis.
The remaining money will be spent on attack ads against Joe Biden.
When the Make America Great Again PAC was asked why they are still spending so much money on Ron DeSantis when Trump leads him by about 40 points, the response was curious.
Karoline Leavitt, spokeswoman for MAGA Inc., stated, “The spending will stop when Ron DeSantis goes back to doing what he was elected to do — govern the state of Florida.”
For a campaign that is really struggling with money right now, doesn’t that seem like a waste?
When you go deeper, though, it all starts to make sense.
Think about it… Not only is Joe Biden attacking DeSantis, but so are Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy.
To me, it seems pretty clear that they all deem DeSantis to be the biggest threat.
I know a lot of you are shaking your head, but if this becomes a heads-up race between DeSantis and Trump, that lead gets cut in half.
While it is still a huge lead, the appearance to those who do not stay up on this will be that Trump is collapsing and DeSantis is surging, which is why DeSantis is still getting hit.
Something just does not smell right here and I am now starting to wonder if Trump has his own polling that is starting to create a panic among his campaign and its PACs.
I guess we will know soon enough, as the handles start to get pulled in about two months.
