They Just Dropped ALL CHARGES

It’s so strange how there is this weird double standard for most rich people when it comes to them doing something illegal. Usually, they have to pay some token fine and if they do get sentenced to prison they end up staying somewhere that’s actually nicer than your home.

It’s been a wild ride for crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried, as the Justice Department has agreed to drop charges of illegal campaign finance activity against him as part of an extradition treaty between the United States and the Bahamas.

The FTX founder was originally indicted on eight counts related to wire fraud, securities fraud and money laundering in December.

Campaign finance records show that Bankman-Fried contributed more than $40 million to Democrats and liberal causes during just the 2022 election cycle.

He donated $6 million to the House Majority PAC, which previously supported President Biden’s 2020 campaign.

It’s believed that at least some of these donations were made using the money of FTX customers.

With extradition now agreed upon, it falls on federal prosecutors and attorneys for Bankman-Fried to determine terms of his bail.

Once hailed as a visionary in the cryptocurrency space, Bankman-Fried’s company collapsed after it became public that FTX over-leveraged itself and could not pay back its customers.

It was later discovered that Bankman Fried authorized funneling $2 billion in customers’ money toward loans and payments for his firm – leading many to question whether he used this money for political contributions or personal gain.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Danielle Sassoon asked Judge Kaplan to remand the defendant into custody – though Kaplan said this will be determined at a later time – while Bankman Fried is under interim gag order not to speak about the case he’s discussed extensively before .
