Over the past few years, Antifa affiliated anarchists thought they could get away with all the destructive looting and arson they wanted. Especially in Tacoma, Washington where the progressives defunded police right out of the picture.
Destructive behavior punished
At last, somebody in a Democrat jurisdiction is being punished for their destructive behavior.
In May of 2020, Margaret Channon was videoed peacefully “setting fire to multiple police vehicles” during one of the nightly protests. Don’t dare call it a riot.
Ms. Channon was arrested in June of 2020, when the video aired, and charged with the destructive act of “setting five police vehicles on fire during a protest in downtown Seattle.”
For the next five years, the 26-year-old Tacoma anarchist will be a guest at the graybar hotel. One year for each cop car she torched. U.S. District Court Attorney Nick Brown announced the sentencing on Tuesday.
Realizing that her public defender wasn’t going to be able to do a whole lot to dispute the video evidence against her, Channon pleaded guilty back in September.
The destructive method she used worked so well she did it five times in a row with cop cars parked along Sixth Avenue and Pine Street in downtown Seattle. All it takes is an aerosol can and a Bic.
Arson crosses the line
“The right to protest, gather, and call out injustices is one of the dearest and most important rights we enjoy in the United States,” Brown declares. “Indeed, our democracy depends on both exercising and protecting these rights.” Destructive arson crosses the line.
“Ms. Channon’s conduct was itself an attack on democracy.” George Floyd is only an excuse and it’s not going to fly for much longer. Not after the way deplorables keep screaming about “Rule of Law,” and the “Constitution.” What really scares the left is when the right starts talking about do-it-yourself vigilante justice.
“She used the cover of lawful protests to carry out dangerous and destructive acts, risking the safety of everyone around her and undermining the important messages voiced by others.”
If cops can’t stop arson and looting, the citizens will. Prosecutors don’t have George Soros around any longer and the voicemail at the Open Societies Foundation is clogged full. With no choice, they decided to do their job.
The clothing she wore during the arson attacks, coupled with her tattoos, made identification impossible to deny. The cops also came up with more evidence of destructive peace and she “admitted to smashing the window at a Verizon store.” Oh, and by the way, “entering a sandwich shop to destroy an electronic cash register.”
Those Minneapolis cops had no right to kill George Floyd so that made violent arson, burglary, and vandalism just fine. Part of her plea agreement says she has to pay back the damage. That’s probably going to take the rest of her life.
