Now here’s something you don’t see everyday. Typically, when you experience pain or a chronic symptom for an extended period of time, you’d think your next plan of action would be to visit the doctor’s office. Well, in the case of this man, in a shocking story out of India, he waited two whole years.
When 35-year-old Kuldeep Singh was rushed to the Moga Medicity Hospital in Moga, Punjab due to severe stomach pain and high fever, doctors were shocked at what they found inside.
After conducting a scan, doctors discovered an astonishing 60 items inside his gut—including lockets, chains, nuts, bolts, earphones and much more.

It turns out that Kuldeep was suffering from a mental condition known as Pica.
Pica is an eating disorder characterized by an abnormal appetite for non-nutritive items such as dirt or paint chips. It can affect people of all ages including pregnant women and children but it’s most commonly seen among those with autism spectrum disorders or intellectual disabilities.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, pica isn’t considered to be a sign of mental illness unless it causes significant distress or impairment in functioning.
This case appears to have been severe enough that medical intervention became necessary so that no further damage would occur from the sharp objects inside his stomach.
Ajmer Singh Kalra director of Moga Medicity Hospital said “On carrying out an X-ray we found lockets chains nuts bolts earphones and many other objects inside the stomach.” Surgeon Anup Handa and gastroenterologist Dr Vishavnoor Kalra successfully removed all 60+ objects from Mr Singh’s stomach.
However, after the three hour surgery Mr. Singh remains on ventilator support in critical condition.
Now, this incredible story of a 35 year old who swallowed more than 60 bizarre objects has been making waves around the world.
