Ana Kasparian, a prominent leftist commentator, has suddenly begun shifting toward the right — this time throwing water on the Democrats attempt to brand former President Donald Trump as a “fascist” or “Nazi.”
Kasparian is a longtime co-host of the radical leftist podcast “The Young Turks.” However, her journey away from the left begun recently after she was sexually assaulted by a homeless man and attacked by the left for commenting on it. She explained that she was called racist by leftists for expressing her feelings about the assault — even though she never mentioned the race of the attacker, who was actually white.
The attack happened in March 2022 while she was walking her dog, when two homeless men approached her.
“But as I was bending down to pick up my dog’s mess, one of the guys, like, grabs me by my hips and he had an er—tion, and just starts, like, humping me and I didn’t know what to do,” she explained, adding: “I’m by myself with my little dog. It was like one of the most terrifying things ever… And luckily, he stopped, and they just laughed at me and walked away as they were laughing at me.”
She explained that she later felt fear, humiliation, and shame that led to mental health issues and agoraphobia — but instead of comforting her, her fellow leftists “started accusing me of being racist, I’m like, wait a minute, why are you assuming that the people who did this? Of course, yeah, like, I think you might have a problem here. Exactly. Yeah. That woke me up. That woke me up. That woke me up.”
This shocking incident was likely the catalyst of Kasparian’s sudden shift away from the left. Now, she is less afraid of calling out the left’s insane rhetoric. Earlier this week, she admitted that the Democrats’ efforts to smear Trump as a fascist are unfounded.
“Ok. Fine. I’ll bite,” she said in a post on X. “Fascism requires a militarized citizenry, conquest/imperialism, the elimination of our governing bodies (like Congress) and the notion that anyone who isn’t part of a master race should be *massacred*.”
Kasparian went on to note that it was a “weird thing to label a guy who brags about not starting any new wars” as a fascist.
“He also passed criminal justice reform and personally pardoned black inmates who were serving life sentences for drug crimes who Obama was unwilling to pardon,” she added. “But I’m the ‘f—ng stupid’ one. Okay.”

She was immediately attacked by her radical leftist followers, but she quickly fired back: “How do you explain more minorities supporting him now than ever before? Are they fascist too?”

Kasparian then pointed out that she is far from a Trump supporter — but she does not believe it is “helpful to call him a fascist or a Nazi.”
“Those words actually mean something beyond not liking a candidate,” she added. “I also don’t think listening to or reading the perspectives of conservative voters is a flaw or something I should feel ashamed of.”

This sudden shift from one of the most progressive commentators online is a testament to the left’s penchant for pushing away their allies if they do not toe the line on every single issue.
