House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has just made a devastating announcement regarding radical leftist Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Unfortunately for the Minnesota congresswoman, Rep. McCarthy (R-CA) plans to kick her and several other Democrat lawmakers off of their current committee assignments if the GOP retakes the majority in the House of Representatives in the midterm elections.
McCarthy revealed these plans during a not-yet-released December interview with Breitbart News that was previewed on January 10th.
In the interview, the Minority Leader said that the GOP would be using similar standards as Democrats have used in recent months to remove and exclude certain Republican lawmakers from key committee positions, referring to Democrat-led efforts to kick Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) off of their committees. Typically, opposing parties do not take these kinds of actions. If a House member’s conduct is actually inappropriate and requires them to be removed from a committee, or not seated on the committee in the first place, that action is always taken by members of their own party.
“The Democrats have created a new thing where they’re picking and choosing who can be on committees,” McCarthy said. “Never in the history [of Congress] have you had the majority tell the minority who can be on committee.”
The left’s actions against Greene and Gosar were seen by many as purely vindictive and petty. Now, the right has apparently decided that there’s no point in playing by the rules if the left never will.
McCarthy’s reasoning behind removing Omar from committees is simple: her past statements and actions are reprehensible. She has made overtly anti-Semitic comments, and has joked about terrorist attacks and terrorist groups on several occasions.
One past video of Omar shows her describing the 9/11 terrorist attacks as an event where “some people did something.”
On another occasion, she appeared to joke about people using an intense tone while referring to terrorist groups like Al Qaeda and Hezbollah.
American Military News also notes that, “In June of last year, Omar also compared the U.S. and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban, asserting that each group has committed ‘unthinkable atrocities.’ She later claimed her comparison was not one of moral equivalence.”
Omar is currently serving on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the GOP has been calling for her to be removed from the committee for a long time.
“Ilhan Omar should not be serving on Foreign Affairs,” McCarthy told Breitbart. “This is a new level of what the Democrats have done.”
Next on the list is Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA). This one is also obvious: he slept with a Chinese spy named Christine Fang, code name Fang Fang. She was a Chinese national that, according to reporting by Axios, targeted several up and coming California lawmakers, including Swalwell. The report states that Fang organized fundraising efforts for Swalwell and even helped place at least one intern in his office.
The California congressman of course denied any wrongdoing in his ties with the Chinese spy, but GOP lawmakers have continued to criticize him for his relationship with her.
“This new standard which these Democrats have voted for—if Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the private sector, there is no reason why he should be given one to be on Intel or Homeland Security. He will not be serving there,” McCarthy told Breitbart, referring to the House Intelligence Committee and the Homeland Security Committee.
Last, but definitely not least: Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA). For years, Schiff lied to the American people, insisting that he personally knew of “significant evidence of collusion” between Trump and Russia in the 2016 election, while stating behind closed doors that he had no evidence, and knowing that the Steele Dossier was fake.
“You look at Adam Schiff—he should not be serving on Intel when he has openly, knowingly now used a fake dossier, lied to the American public in the process and doesn’t have any ill will [and] says he wants to continue to do it,” McCarthy told Breitbart.
“Think about what happened in Afghanistan. Why did Afghanistan collapse so fast? Was the Intel Committee under Adam Schiff focused on impeachment and not on the safety of America?” McCarthy continued. “Why are people coming across the border that are on a terrorist watch list? What are they doing about it? Their own members on that committee say it’s not happening when it’s true. We need to have an Intel Committee that looks at what’s happening around the world and keeps America safe. It should do exactly what it was created [to do]—overseeing of our agencies and others. We’re going to hold people to a higher standard in the process if they want to be on the Intel Committee and the training to be a part of it. Take the politics out of it.”
