The FBI has finally responded to the information that has been released by Twitter.
In typical government fashion, the FBI is acting as though it did nothing wrong.
In fact, they are chalking this all up to conspiracy theory.
Not True
The Twitter files seem to make it pretty apparent that the FBI was working hand-in-hand with Twitter to kill stories and censor accounts.
The FBI further stated that it never gives direction.
The agency stated, “We are providing it so that they can take whatever action they deem appropriate under their terms of service to protect their platform and protect their customers, but we never direct or ask them to take action.”
That, however, is not exactly true.
The FBI was sending specific accounts to have banned, a request that was usually granted.
This is typical of the emails that Twitter was getting from the FBI, clearly implying they wanted these accounts banned…

The FBI was even paying Twitter millions to do this…
46. The FBI’s influence campaign may have been helped by the fact that it was paying Twitter millions of dollars for its staff time.

An FBI spokesperson responded, “The correspondence between the FBI and Twitter show nothing more than examples of our traditional, longstanding and ongoing federal government and private sector engagements, which involve numerous companies over multiple sectors and industries.
“As evidenced in the correspondence, the FBI provides critical information to the private sector in an effort to allow them to protect themselves and their customers.
“The men and women of the FBI work every day to protect the American public. It is unfortunate that conspiracy theorists and others are feeding the American public misinformation with the sole purpose of attempting to discredit the agency.”
It’s not a conspiracy if it’s true… and the information is right there for everyone to make their own judgment on this, but I know what I think.
