The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee just got a gander at Joe Biden’s massive budget.
I have not looked it over yet, but from the reaction I have seen, it will take us down a rabbit hole that will destroy this country.
Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) seems to agree.
The Budget
Biden’s budget is almost $7 trillion, with roughly $5.8 trillion in new spending.
When is he going to learn that excess spending flips the economy in the wrong direction?
Not only that, the budget is packed with taxes that would reportedly devastate the working class.
Smith stated, “It means a working-class (American) is going to have to pay more to put food on the table, clothes on their backs and gasoline in their cars, because this incredible spending will only fuel inflation.
“These Biden taxes will only reduce the take home pay for all Americans.
“Whether you make less than $400,000 a year or whether you make more than $400,000 a year, the policies within this proposal are going to be devastating.”
He later added, “The last thing this economy needs right now for working-class families is more spending and more increases in taxes.
“Right now, they lost … months of their salaries over the last two years just because of the cost of inflation. … That happened because of reckless government spending.”
Smith concluded, “This is the largest tax increase that Biden has ever presented, and it is the largest spending he’s ever considered.
“So, if he’s really wanting to cut spending and control the fiscal crisis that we’re in, he would have presented a budget that would balance at some point. This budget will never balance.”
To this point, Biden has refused to sit down with McCarthy to discuss the debt ceiling.
Well, I can guarantee you there is no way that budget passes the House.
Maybe Biden went big knowing he would have to trim it down, but I am not sure McCarthy has a knife sharp enough to cut all that fat!
