Trump and DeSantis are now officially engaged.
A DeSantis PAC has been playing offense for the Florida Governor, but DeSantis decided to fire a few shots of his own last week.
So, Trump is now fully engaging DeSantis, hammering him on his leadership skills.
Ruined the State
The approach by Trump here is a bit of a risky one.
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung led the charge.
He stated, “The real DeSantis record is one of misery and despair.
“He has left a wake of destruction all across Florida and people are hurting because he has spent more time playing public relations games instead of actually doing the hard-work needed to improve the lives of the people he represents.”
Cheung continued, alleging that “in a weeks-long shadow campaign for president,” has allowed Florida “to tumble into complete and total delinquency and destruction.”
Now, there have been some issues, which I have pointed out, but Trump’s campaign is taking this to the extreme.
Here is the issue… the people living in Florida know this is not true.
They have thrived with DeSantis running the state, so I am not sure how deep this will cut or play.
Trump’s main base will eat it up, but as I have stated before, they are already in Trump’s corner.
The former president has to lure in those that did not support him in 2020, and I am just not sure waging war against DeSantis’ performance as a governor will do the job.
I know the polls say different now, but I would not put too much into the polling until after DeSantis officially announces.
