The incident occurred on Sept. 8 when police pulled over a white Ford pickup truck that was veering back and forth between the highway’s right lane and the bicycle lane at about 2am.
According to reports, Harrison had bloodshot eyes, a blank stare, and an odor of alcohol emanated from him after he exited his vehicle.
The police then conducted a field sobriety test which Harrison failed according to his own words when speaking to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.
He said he ‘sucks at playing Simon Says’ referring to one of the tests administered by law enforcement during these types of procedures.
After failing this test, officers requested that Richard provide either a breath or blood sample which he initially refused out of fear before eventually giving in after being informed that his license would be revoked if he didn’t comply.
Harrison spoke further about this incident saying “I’m not going to say (screw) Metro! Drinking and driving should be legal.”
He went on further to explain why he felt it necessary for him to fight back against what he perceived as injustice by stating “I’m not trying to be that guy.”
It is likely that Harrison will face some sort of consequence for this offense however, any penalties have yet to be determined or revealed publicly since this matter is still pending investigation by local authorities.
It’s also possible that an attorney may be hired in order for Harrison make sure all parties involved are treated fairly throughout this process given how high profile this case has become due to its ties with one of America’s most beloved television programs.
