DeSantis Puts AOC in Her Place

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida after returning from a long absence over the holidays has finally answered the disrespectful goading of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and he did it in style. AOC if she has any sense will probably go pretty quiet for a while. The trouble seems to have started when Steve Cortes posted an image he captured of Ocasio-Cortez and her husband vacationing in Florida, enjoying drinks out without masking in very clearly hypocritical fashion for someone who has sung the praises of NY Gov. Kathy Hochul’s totalitarian mandates.

Perhaps if it ended there it would’ve been fine, but AOC lashed out in bizarre and disturbing fashion, accusing Cortes and other Republicans criticizing her of fantasizing about dating her and “projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet.” she continued, “It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general. These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird”. Yikes.

"

Governor DeSantis’ social media team was on point though and poked a bit of respectful fun at the Congresswoman. They tweeted, Welcome to Florida, AOC! We hope you’re enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to @RonDeSantisFL’s leadership.” A bit snarky? Yes. But still taking the high road. It went downhill fast from there though, with Ocasio-Cortez ignorantly criticizing DeSantis for being “inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks” and “posting old photos for weeks.”

The radical left jumped on board and began to slam the Florida Governor for his absence over the holidays. National Review reported,

“MSNBC host Joy Reid similarly targeted the governor’s absence without knowing the reason for it. “A governor, not governing during a crisis; and sunning his belly on vacation instead. @GovRonDeSantis is the Nero of Ted Cruzes,” she tweeted.”

AOC & The Media’s Attacks On DeSantis Backfire Horribly

It was then revealed by DeSantis’ spokeswoman Christina Pushaw, that DeSantis had not at all abandoned his post as Governor, but was working remotely, while accompanying his wife Casey to various medical appointments… as she battles breast cancer. Mrs. DeSantis’ diagnosis became public knowledge in October, the Governor at the time told Fox News that “the mother of three young children, Casey is the centerpiece of our family and has made an impact on the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as first lady.”

AOC was so consumed with taking the heat off of herself that she seems to have forgotten that the DeSantis’ are experiencing one of the most harrowing possible challenges a family can face, and slandered them for her own ends. The mainstream media followed right along. Pushaw openly published DeSantis’s schedule to show AOC, Joy Reid, and the world that he was not, in fact, on vacation, adding, “Have you ever considered that you’re one of the reasons nobody trusts the media?”

If they weren’t already ashamed of themselves, DeSantis made sure upon his return to get a nice dig in. telling the press:

“If I had a dollar for every lock-down politician who decided to escape to Florida over the last two years, I’d be a pretty doggone wealthy man, let me tell you. I mean Congresspeople, mayors, governors, you name it.”

Godspeed, and quick healing Mrs. DeSantis, and maybe a bit of grace for the Governor.
