Tragedy has struck the Mildenstein family in Provo, Utah.
19-year old Liam Mildenstein was reading his mission statement to his family when he suddenly collapsed and passed away.
Liam had been hoping for weeks that he would be called to serve his Mormon mission in Japan.
His wish came true as the announcement of where he would be going came right before his unexpected death.
His older brother Kaelten described the event as truly unexplainable and an unexpected tragedy with no signs leading up to it.
The cause of Liam’s sudden death is still unknown at this time.
Kaelten went on to say that it had been Liam’s lifelong dream to go to Japan for his mission which many other members of their family have done previously – including uncles and grandparents.
He explained that Liam was a very sweet person who always wanted to help others and had a childlike heart; he also played multiple instruments such as drums and Irish flute.
In light of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been created by the Mildenstein family Wednesday to help cover funeral expenses.
As of Saturday morning, more than $37,000 has already been donated surpassing their goal of $30,000.
The loss of such an innocent young man is heartbreaking and will be felt throughout their entire community in Provo, Utah for years ahead.
