Homeowners Find Terrifying Secrets In Their New Homes

A post thread on X/Twitter from an account called Creepy.org has revealed dozens of terrifying scenes discovered by homeowners when they began working on their new homes.

When moving into a newly purchased home, many people have found little issues with the home that they did not initially notice during the home buying process — but these creepy discoveries are far more sinister than a broken cabinet or a loose stair.

The thread titled “Strange things people have found in their old houses” begins with an ominous photo of a pentagram etched into the wood floor — which was found after the new owners removed the old carpet.

“Did a satanic ritual take place here, or is it a curse for the new owners?” the post questioned.

While a pentagram will typically strike fear in most people who find one, the second photo just leaves you with more questions and uneasiness.

“A person found a hidden house in his attic,” the post reads.

The third post takes the viewer back to the realm of the terrifying, as it shows an extremely disturbing sight — a human tooth shoved into the wall of the house.

Next, we end up in the backyard of a newly purchased home for an equally concerning sight — “a shallow, body-sized hole” found behind the home, according to the post. Is the size and shape of the hole just a coincidence or did the previous homeowners have some skeletons in their closet?

The next post shows another addition to a home that leaves us with more questions than answers, a random small door in the wall underneath a staircase that is especially fortified, as if it was meant to keep something in rather than simply store something.

“The new house owner found something sealed tight in the basement,” the post read.

Next, we have more nightmare fuel with a lengthy mural painted on “a mile-long tunnel running beneath an apartment building” — which appears to show numerous human-looking creatures with what appears to be blood all over their mouths.

The next post is more odd than creepy, showing how lazy the last homeowner was, with the post stating that “instead of cutting the door, [the last homeowner] had cut the carpet to make the door open in the basement.”

The thread went right back to creepy after that, as it shows a terrifying sight that a contractor found in an abandoned, foreclosed home that they planned to renovate — what appears to be a large puppet head staring up at them face first from inside a disgusting old toilet.

The next picture is terrifying in more than one way, as an uncovered well was found inside the crawlspace of a home built in 1901. The husband who found this creepy well almost fell inside while he was working inside the crawlspace, which is especially frightening considering how deep and dark it looks to be inside.

The new homeowners at the next house were simply trying to run a new wire through the walls when they stumbled upon this creepy sight — more than 30 bird skeletons entombed into the small section of the wall, all jumbled up together. How did they all get in there? Did they all fall in at once or did they each end up there on their own over the years?

The next photo is more ominous than creepy, as the post noted: “Someone found this mysterious symbol under his doormat. Any idea what it means?”

The next post left viewers with plenty of questions, though many determined that it had to be an image of some sort of “mystery meat.”

“This was found in the basement of an Airbnb rental,” the post read.

Next, we have a creepy and extremely odd image showing “An untouched 1800s cemetery preserved in the basement of a tall building built over it.” Why would anyone want to build a home on top of a cemetery?

The next one is just plain weird: “A VHS tape titled ‘Sexual Positions,’ copyrighted in 1985, hidden in the basement rafters and found while someone was repairing plumbing.”

The next post is simply a video of the windows of a home from the outside, appearing to show hundreds of flies, along with the question: “Has anyone ever found a dead body?”

From what the post is suggesting, it is likely that the house contains a body that has been dead for some time considering the number of flies in the window.

The next post once again leaves more questions than answers, as someone found a ball and chain on the floor of a basement.

The next photo appears to show a casket under a shallow pool of water.

The next image shows a stain that the new homeowner found, which appears to show “where the previous owner of their home was found.”

Back to pentagrams again, this time it is clear who the curse is directed at, as it appears that the previous tenant was angry at a man named Nick. The creepiest part: the post seems to suggest that the new homeowner’s boyfriend shared the same name.

“A person found something in their girlfriend’s loft. She had only moved in three months ago and had never been up there. Guess the boyfriend’s name,” the post read.

The next image showed the inside of a secret hidden bunker underneath a home, which contained a terrifying number of bugs…

Another homeowner discovered dozens of naked mannequins in the attic of a home for sale, along with one especially creepy mannequin in the back that was positioned in a disturbing manner.

The next post is more sad than scary, as it showed what was found inside the home of a hoarder who had passed away in 2021 with no family — leaving thousands of stuffed animals behind.

Back to creepy again with the next one, as it shows a rather terrifying painting found inside the wall of a hallway.

The next post’s contents look like something you might find in a videogame like Skyrim — a hidden swinging trap in the ceiling over a staircase, which is activated when someone steps on a certain stair. Of course, the trap was found inside a meth house, which is probably creepier than a trap found inside a Skyrim burial crypt — as it falls down at face height with a knife duct-taped to the trap in the perfect place to stab someone in the eye.

The next post does not appear to be human-made, but rather something more supernatural and creepy. “Someone found these dead flies arranged in a circle near their window. They don’t use traps, bug sprays or anything similar and there have been no signs of pest activity. What could be causing this?” the post asked.

The next post could be cute or creepy, depending on your interpretation of the events that caused it… As the homeowner found a paw print in a brick wall.

The next homeowner became a very wealthy man following this creepy discovery.

“A rare Fabergé figurine was found in the attic of a deceased descendant of a collector in Rhinebeck, New York. It was later sold for over $5.2 million,” the post explained.

Homeowner Colin Steer always had questions about an odd phenomenon in his home, but it wasn’t until he removed the floor in his living room that he discovered the terrifying sight.

“For almost three decades, Colin Steer had wondered what had caused the living room floor beneath his sofa to dip. It was only after he retired that he discovered his house had been sitting on a 33ft medieval well,” the post read.

Another family found something hidden under their floor, though it was more strange than creepy — a beautiful tiled bath tub that was covered with a layer of cement.

The final photo showed a life-size Monopoly board that a family found painted on the floor after tearing up the carpet.

Many of these terrifying photos are definitely nightmare fuel, and will definitely make you think twice before buying an old abandoned home. But the question is… which one was the creepiest?
