A Venezuelan Amazon driver has been arrested for crashing into a Florida mother who was walking with her baby in a stroller and then fleeing the scene.
Sarahy Parra-Ovalles initially entered the United States on a tourist visa, but illegally continued to reside in the country after the visa expired. She was later granted a work permit by the Biden-Harris administration despite breaking the law, and was able to get hired by Amazon as a driver. Citing Homeland Security sources, the New York Post has confirmed that the 45-year-old woman “entered the US on a tourist visa in 2019, which expired in 2021.”
“She was granted Temporary Protected Status in 2021, which allowed her apply for a work permit,” the outlet reported. “Parra-Ovalles was arrested Friday on charges of leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and leaving the scene of a crash without serious bodily injury, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.”
The unidentified victim was pushing her four-month-old baby in a stroller across the street when Parra-Ovalles suddenly crashed into her, throwing the infant into the street. Parra-Ovalles was caught on surveillance video climbing out of the Amazon vehicle to put the infant back into the stroller, then calmly walking back to her car to flee the scene. Meanwhile, the mother was still laying on the road bleeding from “catastrophic” injuries.

Reports indicate that the mother suffered a “catastrophic brain injury, a broken skull, and a brain bleed” as a result of the hit-and-run.
According to Judd Rosen, the mother’s attorney, Parra-Ovalles left “the baby alone in the middle of the intersection and the mom bleeding from her skull.”
This horrific and shocking incident became even more insane when news broke that Parra-Ovalles was released on bond within 24 hours of the arrest.
The family’s lawyer responded to the news, stating: “She was run down in broad daylight and left for dead, and within 24 hours of getting arrested, [the suspect is] back on the streets, potentially driving around. Where is the justice system when you need them?”
Social media users were quick to respond to the horrific incident, with many arguing that the judge who released Parra-Ovalles on bond should be charged.
