It has been recently announced that 18-year-old Romanian teenager Alexandra Khefren has made the shocking decision to sell her virginity to the highest bidder, despite threats from her family to disown her if she followed through with this gambit.
Even though the notion of selling one’s virginity in order to get ahead in life is not widely accepted by many and often seen as demeaning femininity, Alexandra was determined to go through with it and make a better future for herself.
In an announcement made through her agency, Alexandra agreed to sell her virginity to a Hong Kong businessman for two million pounds.
She also booked a hotel room where the transaction will take place, with 20% of the bill going towards Cinderella Escorts (the site based in Germany which brokered the deal).
Alexandra believes that this is a much better option than giving away something so precious for free – “How many would possibly forgo their first time in retrospect if they could have £2million instead?” she said.
The man who purchased Alexandra’s virginity is reportedly very friendly and when they meet in person at a hotel room in Germany, he will be accompanied by staff from Cinderella Escorts.
When Alexandra went public on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ about selling her virginity, viewers were left stunned.
Many questioned both her moral fiber as well as intellectual capabilities however, there were some who defended her decisions saying that everyone should be allowed to make their own choices without being judged by others.
Furthermore, since then more than 300 virgins have contacted Cinderella Escorts expressing interest in following suit and offering their own virginity on the open market.
The reaction across social media was quite divided – some argued that it sends out a bad message about respecting oneself and one’s body whereas others believed no one has any right to judge someone else’s decisions or mistakes they may have made along the way.
Additionally, many expressed heartfelt sympathy for young Aleexandra and wished she would listen to advice before making such drastic decisions about how she chooses to spend her life moving forward.
