We have often railed against PACs and lobbyists having so much influence over politicians.
I have stated many times that these politicians do not work for the people.
They work for the donors that load up their accounts with big checks.
In this case, they paid for breast augmentation surgery.
It’s a Legal Bribe
El Monte, CA Councilwoman Victoria Martinez Muela was in the market for a boob job.
How did she pay for it?
Well, there is a report that it was funded by a lobbyist that was doing business with the city.
Muela was the senior member of the city council at the time.
Her buddy, Sigrid Lopez, was a lobbyist for Southland Transit.
Southland Transit just happened to have a $700,000 contract that had been submitted for consideration with the city.
Lopez reportedly put up $1,100 for the breast augmentation surgery to offset some of the costs.
She was also Muela’s ride to the clinic to have the surgery performed.
This all became public information after the two of them had a falling out.
Oh, by the way, the “gift” was not reported, as is required.
This is a bribe, period, and Muela should be put in jail, not sitting on a city council.
