Women across the United States are standing up to fight for their right to choose when it comes to reproductive rights.
A group of three women from Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights staged a protest in Houston, Texas at Joel Osteen’s megachurch.
Stripping down to their underwear and chanting slogans such as “My body, my f*****g choice!” and “Overturn Roe, hell no!” they made their voices heard.
The protesters were escorted out but continued their demonstration outside the church in front of cameras and crowds.
The Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights group is determined to protect reproductive rights and make sure that women have access to safe healthcare options without government interference.
The three women who protested face trespassing charges but the group has vowed to continue their protests until reproductive rights are restored in the United States.
Supporters of reproductive rights have taken to social media using hashtags such as #MyBodyMyChoice and #StandUpForReproductiveRights in order to show solidarity with the protestors and voice their support for an end to government control over women’s bodies.
Joel Osteen is well-known for being one of the wealthiest megachurch preachers in America.
However, he made headlines during Hurricane Harvey when he initially refused to offer his church as a temporary shelter for those affected by the disaster before later changing his mind.
In light of this controversy as well as his pro-life views, many are questioning whether or not he is doing enough when it comes to speaking out against these kinds of protests.
