During the 2020 election, 51 former intelligence officials penned a letter to be published.
The letter claimed that the Hunter Biden laptop had all the signs of Russian disinformation.
That letter was used by the media and Joe Biden to discredit a story that should have taken Biden right out of the election.
Now Judicial Watch is suing the CIA for documentation to find out why the letter’s approval was so rushed.
Why the Hurry?
The clearance of the letter was requested by CIA Acting Director Mike Morell on October 19, 2020.
This letter request came after the New York Post published the Hunter Biden laptop story.
The letter was clearly written to help Joe Biden fight off imminent attacks that would take place in a debate that was scheduled for only three days later.
Morell requested a rush job on the request, and it was granted, with the letter being published and used by Biden during the debate.
Morell testified before the House Judiciary Committee, stating that the current Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, who was working for Biden’s campaign at the time, inspired the drafting of the letter, having reached out to Morell to plant the seed a few days earlier.
When Morell was soliciting signatures, he made it clear this was to help Biden.
For instance, in his email to former CIA Director John Brennan, he wrote, “Trying to give the campaign, particularly during the debate … a talking point to push back on Trump.”
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton stated, “The Deep State CIA, it seems, engaged in election interference and a political operation against the American people to help Joe Biden and hurt Trump.
“And now the CIA is ignoring FOIA law to cover up its role in the scandal, censoring and suppressing the Hunter Biden/Joe Biden laptop story just before the presidential election.”
Unlike most of the Democrat claims, this actually was election interference, yet there is not a single peep from the Democrat side to try to get to the bottom of what happened here.
Hopefully, Fitton will have more success than Republicans have had thus far in creating a buzz over this story.
