Can you believe it…

Joe Biden actually went to work on a Saturday.

For most of his presidency, Joe Biden heads back to Delaware on Friday afternoon and does not show back up in DC until late Monday morning.

This past week, however, there was another stop along the way.

Headed to Florida

Biden took a lot of heat for not heading to Maui right after the wildfires.

He is not making that mistake again and announced that he would head to Florida to assess the damage.

I think DeSantis would have preferred for Joe to stay out of his state, already saying that Biden will be a distraction, but Biden is not taking any more chances.

While announcing the trip, Biden also took a shot at Republicans for holding up relief funding for Maui.

He stated, “Some of my colleagues, my former colleagues in the Senate … think that this disaster relief money we’re asking to continue to finish the job so far and have enough money to continue to work to save the American people — their lives, their homes, their well-being — is somehow, not needed.

“We need this disaster relief met and we need to do it in September, it can’t wait.”

Now, that is not exactly an honest statement because funding is being held up because, as usual, we are not getting a stand-alone bill.

Nobody here is going to fight against giving either Florida or Maui the help they need to recover from these disasters, but additional funding for pet projects should not be attached to that funding.
