The hounding of former President Donald Trump is not about justice; it’s about power. That much was made clear by a tweet from Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters of California.
She wrote that many were worried the Judge extended Trump’s trial date, but she reassured her followers that “TRUMP CAN’T RUN. TRUMP CAN’T HIDE. He will be imprisoned with Ivanka by his side!”
Her statement reveals the true intentions behind the Democratic push to prosecute Trump: they want him gone, and they don’t care if he is guilty or innocent.

What’s more, Ivanka has nothing to do with these trials and isn’t even named in any of the Georgia indictments – so why mention her at all?
The root cause here is obvious: if the Democrats could, they would put every member of the Trump family, their staff and anyone who voted for or supported them behind bars.
New York Attorney General Letitia James tried exactly this last year when she named Ivanka in a civil fraud case which sought to bar her from serving as an officer or director of any business registered in New York state and deferred her for criminal investigation.
The accusation was that Ivanka had misrepresented valuations on financial statements and thereby committed fraud – however this case was later dismissed by a New York appeals court because at the time when these alleged misrepresentations supposedly took place she wasn’t even working for the Trump organization.
This shows how shallowly rooted political motives can be when trying to bring down someone like Donald Trump – though it does little to change what’s already been revealed as truth: Democrats are more concerned with obtaining power than they are enforcing justice.
Social media users quickly lashed out at Waters’ vengeful comment – one person tweeted “This is what our politics has devolved in to… Nut job,” while Former Republican nominee Kimberly Klacik chimed in saying “Throwing Ivanka’s name in this tweet is a perfect example of women hating on beautiful women out of pure jealousy.”
This just goes to show how divided US politics have become since Donald Trump stepped onto the scene – it’s no surprise then that those on ‘the other side’ have resorted to such underhanded tactics as vengeance against those who support him instead of abiding by traditional methods such as due process.
At its core, this fight between Democrats and Republicans has never been about justice, it has always been about power – something which Rep. Maxine Waters proves beyond doubt with her inflammatory statement.
