It was not a good week for aging entertainers.
Michael Gambon, most well-known for his role as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, passed away earlier this week.
Now we have also learned that David McCallum has died as well.
McCallum has been a fan favorite on “NCIS” for two decades.
Ducky is Gone
McCallum played Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard on “NCIS,” a role he has held for 20 years.
That, however, was far from his only venture in TV.
Older fans will recall that he played Illya Kuryakin in “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”
He has been entertaining fans since 1953, having spent his entire adult life entertaining us.
His death was announced by his representative, stating, “He led an incredible life, and his legacy will forever live on through his family and the countless hours on film and television that will never go away.
“We will miss his warmth and endearing sense of humor that lit up any room or soundstage he stepped onto, as well as the brilliant stories he often shared from a life well-lived.
“Our hearts go out to his wife Katherine and his entire family, and all those who knew and loved David.”
His death is just a reminder of how successful “NCIS” has been, and it will be a devastating blow to the cast and fans to longer have him on the set.
Rest in Peace, Ducky.
