It’s fair to say that cops do tend to see anything and everything while out doing their jobs. And it’s also fair to say they likely also have a multitude of odd stories to go with it. Well, this story is probably one of those examples of strange things you don’t see everyday.

Recently, The Slovak Police Force issued a reprimand to an irresponsible driver after catching their canine companion in the driver’s seat.

Officers from Senice municipality were left shocked and appalled when they spotted the brown hunting dog behind the wheel of a car while on patrol near the village of Šterusy in western Slovakia.

The 31-year-old driver claimed that his pet had suddenly jumped over his knees, but speed camera footage debunked this tale; no sudden movements were recorded.

As punishment for their dangerous behavior, the motorist was given a fine for violating traffic regulations.

The Slovak Police Force took to Facebook to issue an urgent warning to citizens across Slovakia: always be sure that your furry friends are secured in the backseat or trunk before embarking on your journey.

Not only will it keep them safe from harm’s way, but it will also prevent any accidental distractions which could put you and other drivers at risk.

Everyone should stay aware while driving – even when not accompanied by any four-legged friends.

To ensure maximum safety for all passengers and animals alike, take extra care when navigating roads with tight turns and sharp corners. Also be mindful of speed limits as excessive speeding can quickly lead to devastating consequences – both for you and those around you.

Lastly, never underestimate how small creatures can disrupt your ability control a vehicle – so make sure they are securely stowed away before hitting the road.
