Residents in Helmetta, New Jersey were in for quite a surprise early Wednesday morning, November 8, after noticing dozens of heavy-armed FBI and local SWAT personnel combing the area to locate Gregory Yetman. Yetman, is facing charges in connection to the January 6th riot.
The US Army veteran was allegedly present at the scene and now faces three years after fleeing upon agents’ arrival.
Residents have been told to shelter in place while law enforcement conducts their investigation. In addition, Main Street has been shut down and helicopters circle above as police search for any sign of Yetman.
A neighbor nearby reported that armed officers were scattered all around their area, causing fear and confusion among residents who had no idea what was happening in their own backyard.
The Biden Department of Justice has taken an incredibly strong stance against those involved with the Capitol protest – yet quite a different approach when it comes to protesters from 2020. Shockingly, 99% of charges against left-wing rioters were dropped while some even received cash settlements due to police response.
Those convicted of more serious offenses such as assault on law enforcement officers have been sentenced up to 10 years in prison, showing a stark contrast between what is being done for those involved with similar events within a year apart from each other.
It’s clear that there are two different sides being treated differently under this new administration – one facing serious jail time while another receives cash settlements? Does this send a message that certain types of behavior will be tolerated if not accepted?
It leaves us asking many questions about our justice system today and how it is dealing with similar acts of crime committed by separate groups across the nation – especially during such an unstable time period like now.
