New York City got a check from FEMA to cover $100 million of their out of pocket migrant costs, just in time to prevent economic disaster. That’s only a third of what they shelled out but at least the city’s homeless can continue eating. Every bus load of migrants takes precious resources away from legitimate citizens who need them.
FEMA pays migrant care bill
Joe Biden had Janet Yellen print up a quick $100 million, to cover an installment of the migrant care costs endured by New York City, while Joe continues to ignore the inflation problem he caused by printing an ever growing pile of new money.
Democrat Senator Charles Schumer confirmed that the Federal Emergency Management Agency made the payment and verified it’s “a third of the $363 million” already shelled out by the city.
The ongoing migrant crisis has toned down visibly at the border but that’s deceptive. Instead of crossing on the ground, they’re flying in by the thousands. New York City can continue to expect a steady stream of new citizens for the foreseeable future. After two years of ignoring the impending disaster, the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program finally started waking up to their obligations.

Since none of the migrants have authority to work legally in America, someone needs to support them. They let the “charities” do that, so it looks like private funding is covering the enormous cost. Their dirty little secret is that Uncle Sam is the biggest donor, by far.
FEMA is dedicated to “helping municipalities around the U.S. and nonprofits providing shelter and other services to homeless migrants who crossed into the country from the southern border.”
Adams initially billed them $650 million for what he covered in migrant costs already. They told him he was dreaming. If he wanted to put them up in the most expensive hotels in the city, that’s fine. He’s only getting so much per head though and it won’t pay for the luxury spa treatments Adams has been passing out.
NYC got the ‘largest’ grant
Even if they aren’t getting every penny they asked for, so far, New York City has been paid the most for coping with the migrant crisis.
“When we negotiated these funds into the budget for the FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Program and the new Shelter Services Program, it was with New York City’s needs front and center — and the share of funding of this tranche reflects that intent,” Schumer declared in a joint statement with lawmaker Hakeem Jeffries.
New York has been getting the biggest checks because they’ve been getting the most migrants. In Chicago, they’re being attacked by angry members of the Black Lives Matter mob and fear for their lives. When they go to Denver, they’re turned around and immediately shipped elsewhere.

When one Migrant group got misdirected to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, everyone assumed they had to be lost and looking for New York, which is where they eventually ended up. After they were detained on a military base to keep the locals safe. “New York City continues to be disproportionately challenged by an influx of asylum seekers and it will take an all-hands-on-deck, every-level-of-government approach to solving.”
While the $100 million was a big help they’re still owed twice that. The biggest migrant problem they have right now is “getting more funds and establishing quicker administrative pathways to work authorization.”
Adams wants to create a win-win situation for everyone. The migrants can live with private families with the extra room. FEMA will pay the homeowner rent and they get the added bonus of live in domestic help. Considering that the budget right now calls for a projected $5 million a day to “care for the current surge of asylum-seekers,” FEMA only covered 22 days.
