His Wisdom Joe Biden and the Imperial Palace are dead silent after yet another 30 students were abducted. Liberals are usually the first to object to any sort of humanitarian situation but for once Democrats have no objection to rampant kidnapping of children.
More students missing
The latest abduction of students occurred late Thursday night as gunmen attacked a school in northwestern Nigeria. The local lords of war use the children as bargaining chips to exchange for cash or captured members of their guerrilla bands.
Schools in Nigeria these days are nothing but low tech ATM machines. Just weeks ago, 300 were kidnapped, and recently returned.
This time, the bandits hit the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization. That’s located “in the Igabi local government area of Kaduna state,” police explain.
According to Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, “About 30 students, a mix of males and females, are yet to be accounted for.”
As related in the official statement, “several staff of the school were also kidnapped.” The Nigerian army is no match for the renegades but this time, the military was able to at least harass the banditos.
Commissioner Aruwan reports, the attack was carried out by a large group of “armed bandits,” who were engaged by the military. Things could have been worse if the troops weren’t on hand. The army was able “to take 180 staff and students to safety.”
Conducting an operation
It’s not known how many of the children were injured in the attack but a number of them are “receiving medical attention at a military facility” while security forces are out beating the bushes, “conducting an operation to track the missing students.”
According to officials, this is the exact same group of bandits behind “the earlier abduction of 279 schoolgirls late last month in the northwest.”
In that incident, “those girls were later freed following negotiations with the government, and it is not known whether a ransom was paid.”
That suggests one was paid but they don’t want to say how much because it affects the market for kidnapped students.
While the local warlords kidnap school students for fun and profit, Boko Haram likes to carry young women off as brides. That was the reason behind the infamous 2014 attack on the Chibok secondary school in Borno state.
Even Barack Obama was outraged by that one, but that’s probably because he was born in Kenya. That one started the #BringBackOurGirls campaign. Imperial Leader Biden seems to be wondering how much his grandkids might bring on the market.
