A Democrat host of “The View” called rapper Snoop Dogg a “trained seal” for choosing to perform at President Donald Trump’s inaugural event.
During the leftist talk show’s broadcast on the day after Trump’s inauguration, the co-hosts opined about the various celebrities who performed at the events. Co-host Ana Navarro, a Democrat who claims to be a Republican despite her unwavering support for President Joe Biden and numerous Democrat talking points, called out Snoop Dogg specifically — claiming that his pivot from criticizing Trump in 2017 to performing at his inauguration made him a hypocrite.
She then made a shockingly disparaging remark about the rapper’s decision to change his mind about Trump over the past few years.
“The thing that really, I think, was spotlighting Snoop is because of the things that Snoop Dogg said ten days before the inaugural in 2017,” Navarro said. “And so look, if you opposed and stood up against Trump in 2017, but you were there now — if you spoke up against Trump January 7th, 2021, but you were there now, applauding him like a trained seal — Donald Trump has not changed, you’ve changed.”
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin responded to Navarro’s comments by pointing out that numerous other Democrats and RINOs showed up to Trump’s inauguration, including former President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton, former President George W. Bush, former first lady Hillary Clinton, and former first lady Laura Bush.
Griffin asserted that attacking the artists — who may just be happy to be part of an important American tradition even if they don’t necessarily support the president — was unfair, especially because other Democrats were also in attendance.

Navarro was correct about Snoop Dogg’s previous criticism of Trump, as the rapper even went so far as to pretend to shoot a clown dressed as Trump in a music video.

However, Snoop Dogg changed his tune in response to Trump’s decision to commute the sentence of Death Row Records founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris in January 2021 before he left office.
“He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris. So, I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” the rapper said in January of 2024.
