The Democratic Party is about as shady as Al Capone’s mafia. It has been true for generations that the Democratic party operates in such a unified front that it is rare to hear an unguarded message from their ranks. However, one Democrat has broken rank about President Joe Biden’s future.

Rep. Dean Phillips, from Minnesota, has gone on the record questioning Biden’s ability to run for another four years. However, he implied that many other Democrats are thinking the same thing in private.
The Atlantic reported that Phillips expressed that the senile Biden should not run unopposed in the 2024 election.
“This is not a knock on Joe Biden, just a wish for competition,” the congressman said. “In the business world, if the dominant brand in a category had favorability ratings like the current president does, you would see a number of established brands jump into that category.”
“Believe me, there are literally hundreds in Congress who would say the same thing,” Philips continued. “But they simply won’t f***ing say a word.”

Biden’s advanced age and mental acuity are problematic for the Democrats. Biden turned 80 this past November and is already America’s oldest president. Biden would be 82 if he were sworn in in 2025.
Harvard Health Publishing shared data in October from the National Center for Health Statistics that explained that life expectancy for white Americans had dropped to about 76.4 years. A decline in life span started in 2019.

As Biden is well past that benchmark and clearly has cognitive issues as well the democratic party needs to find a new face for its agenda. It is clear that Biden has a hard enough time now dealing with matters of state and the press, how functional will he be in 2025 and beyond for a second term?
Only time will tell if the Democratic party abandons Biden for a new leader.
