Senate Majority Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is one thing: a consummate politician and a survivor who is willing to do anything and sacrifice anyone in order to maintain his grip on power. Many have speculated as to Schumer’s motives behind pushing for the filibuster to be broken in order to allow passage of the “John Lewis Voting Rights Act” and the “Freedom to Vote Act” two deliberately mistitled proposals that strip away state sovereignty and the ability to manage elections, a key feature in the delicate Federalist balance of power. And yes, while it is absolutely to his advantage to ensure that the Democrats can remain in power and eventually become a single-party state indefinitely, Schumer seems to have a more direct, more acute motive to his grandiose manipulations of late: survival. Schumer has a giant campaign target on his back, but not from a Republican, nope. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made it very clear: she wants his job.
AOC Is Making Moves Behind The Scenes And Schumer Knows It
According to The Wallstreet Journal piece entitled “Run, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, Run” she said,
“It is unconscionable the way the Senate operates. It’s fundamentally undemocratic,” she said Monday after Sen. Manchin had announced his opposition to the Build Back Better Act. “What we really need to do is crack down on the Senate, which operates like an old boys’ club that has a couple of gals in it that have managed to break through.”
The WSJ editorial board wrote,
“Some might shudder at the prospect, but what difference would it make it this point? In January we wrote an editorial, “Schumer and His Shadow,” as the powerful Senator seemed to mimic every demand from AOC. He’s echoed her plan to forgive student loans and adopted more or less the entire progressive agenda. He supports blowing up the filibuster rule as does AOC. And he did it again Monday in calling for a Senate floor vote on Build Back Better as Ms. Ocasio-Cortez commanded.”
The WSJ crowd in spite of their attitude of ‘eff around and find out’ regarding the prospect are not the only outlet that has pointed out the obvious maneuvering AOC has made noting it as early as December 2020 when the Congresswoman said,
“I do think that we need new leadership in the Democratic Party.”

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) even took notice, ”’I think Chuck Schumer is afraid to get primaried in New York,” Rubio told SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly on her show Friday, January 14th. With this latest failure to control his own caucus in the Senate, the 71-year-old New York huckster has left blood in the water and the sharks are circling. Long have the Democrat-Socialists called for the elder members of their party to ‘step aside for the next generation’, now those calls are becoming deafening, only intensified by Schumer’s resounding failure. In his desperation, he will lead his party into a massive lurch to the left and like any cornered animal, he is at his most dangerous.
