The recent interview between Donald Trump and prominent Republican Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) has sparked a lot of speculation about their future together.
While many expected the former president to attack the senator, instead he praised him as a “very good guy” and mentioned potential roles within the administration.
With both men seeming to share a close relationship, it appears that Scott could be in line for an important role should Trump win the election.
President Trump had nothing but positive things to say about his fellow Republican: “I think he’s a very good guy…we did opportunity zones together…it’s one of the most successful economic development things ever done in this country…Tim is very good. I mean I can see Tim doing something with the administration…but Tim is a talented guy and you have other very talented people.”
Senator Scott responded positively to these comments from President Trump by simply saying “the former president is a good guy” and then going on to talk about how he believes America can do for anyone what she has done for him: “restore hope, create opportunities and protect the America we love”.
This response seems to have only added fuel to rumors that he could potentially be up top as Vice President if they were both elected into office.
It’s clear that President Trump trusts his fellow Republican enough to consider using him in important roles within his administration.
