We all know that if Democrats had their way, fossil fuels would be gone.

California has always been ahead of the curve on this front, although its grid still relies on fossil fuels for the majority of its energy.

Newsom, however, is making a big shift, which includes electric vehicles.

Many experts believe that with California’s grid already struggling, this aggressive move could create a complete collapse of the California grid in during the next big surge.

Too Fast

Newsom is trying to put a plan in place that would reduce carbon emissions by 85 percent overall by 2035.

He is also hoping to cut oil dependency in the state by 94 percent.

The cost to residents will be astronomical, but California politicians seem to care little about these costs.

When you add in the big push for electric vehicles in the state, this is going to put a huge strain on the grid.

Edward Ring, a senior fellow with and co-founder of the California Policy Center, stated, “They’re going to have to build an outrageous amount of wind and solar in a very short time if they want to accomplish their objectives of electrifying — our whole transportation sector and our whole home heating and cooling and residential sector.

“There’s a burden to the consumer that’s going to get very heavy.

“Even if they can pull it off without blackouts, the burden to the consumer is going to be ridiculous.”

Myron Ebell, the director of the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Center for Energy and Environment, added, “They’re, in fact, telling people that they’re going to start shutting off natural gas to houses and that they have to convert to electricity.

“Then, they’re forcing people to buy electric vehicles and they’re going to stop selling internal combustion engine vehicles.

“That will add to the grid’s demand.”

Expect a lot of rolling blackouts in the near future in the state of California.
