The top general in the United States Army has called it quits.
Gen. James McConville has formally stepped down from his post.
His expected replacement, Gen. Randy George, is being held up in Congress by Senator Tuberville (R-AL).
The Void
Tuberville’s move to block all military appointments is starting to have a very big impact on our military, which is what Tuberville was hoping for when he started his little boycott.
Tuberville is protesting the Pentagon’s position on abortion.
As such, he has vowed to block all military appointments until the Pentagon stops using taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions of service members.
With these appointments on hold, I am sure that Biden was hoping McConville would stay in his position, but that will not be the case.
So, not only will Biden now have the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff position unfilled with General Mark Milley’s retirement, but McConville stepping down as the Army Chief of Staff leaves an additional void.
All this is happening at a time that could not be worse for Biden, as our armed forces are being severely challenged in recruiting.
Democrats, of course, will say that the GOP is putting the security of America at risk.
Well, our argument is that Democrats are abusing their power to force policies that are possibly illegal, and they need to be stopped.
So, both sides will be pointing fingers, but there is no question that under Biden, this country is no longer the juggernaut it once was.
