Donald Trump has always talked about pardoning the rioters from January 6.
One of them, Steward Rhodes, was just given 18 years.
This is the longest conviction of anyone that has been to trial for the events that took place on January 6.

Rhodes, if you are not familiar, is the founder of the Oath Keepers.
This is a militia group with members mostly made up of former service members and first responders.
As far as private militia groups are concerned, they are atop the list of groups the government was worried about causing an uprising that could actually cause a problem.
These men are well-armed and well-trained, and they do not like the government.
During the sentencing, U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta stated, “Mr. Rhodes, you have been convicted of seditious conspiracy. You’re a lawyer. You understand what that means.
“Among the most serious crimes an individual American can commit… an offense against the people of our country.”
Mehta later added, “What we absolutely cannot have is a group of citizens… prepared to take up arms in order to foment a revolution, and that’s what you did.”
Rhodes attorneys accused the prosecution of trying to make Rhodes the face of the riot, but they pointed the blame at someone else.
Defense attorney Phillip Linder stated, “If you want to put a face on J6, you put it on Trump, right-wing media, politicians, all the people who spun that narrative.”
Several other Oath Keepers are due to be sentenced later this week.
Several Proud Boys members that were convicted of similar charges are watching this closely.
Enrique Tarrio, a Proud Boys leader, has also been convicted of seditious conspiracy, so we can probably expect a similar sentence for him.
