A former fire commissioner in the lawless city of San Francisco is slamming officials. He has a good right to, after being attacked on the streets by a violent bum with a crowbar. The incident happened Monday, April 5 in “the city’s affluent Marina District.

City slammed for lawlessness

The anarchy is totally out of control from one end of San Francisco to the other, even in “affluent” parts of the city. Former San Francisco fire commissioner Don Carmignani is calling on liberal officials to protectits law-abiding citizens.

Their Democrat policy of protecting the criminals isn’t working out real well. He’s not the only one who’s been attacked on the streets recently, just one who’s name carries some clout, so Carmignani is using it.

Carmignani was assaulted by one of the multitude of homeless drug addicts wandering loose on city streets, using them for their toilet. The altercation happened after he got a jingle from his mom, who lives in the upscale Marina District.

She called to get some help with zombies camping in her front yard. Don hopped in his car and went to see what he could do.

Trying to be civil about the matter, Carmignani approached three men and asked politely for them “to move their encampment.” Anywhere in the city but there.

That’s when the urban outdoorsman, later identified by police as 24-year-old Garret Allen Doty, “allegedly struck Carmignani’s head with the metal crowbar again and again, seriously injuring him.” Apparently, he liked the view there. Video shows the beating and “Doty chasing after Carmignani, 53, with a long metal pipe.

Not the first victim

The footage shows the assailant repeatedly swing his weapon at Carmignani, “who tries to block the blows with his arms and run off.” He got whacked a good one. Local outlets report that “he broke his jaw, got 50 stitches on his face and had a piece of his skull removed in surgery.” That’s not the important part, he insists.

Sadly, I am not the first person to be victimized by these individuals, who are known criminals with a well-documented history of drug use, harassment of residents, and vandalism in the Marina.” City police couldn’t be bothered to come out until he had been attacked.

Carmignani’s mom had already “called 911 to report the encampment at the entryway to her house.” She told police she “didn’t feel safe leaving her home after past encounters with the individuals.” The cops ignored it. The city of San Francisco goes out of their way to encourage that sort of behavior.

Neither cops nor homeless service came.” Meanwhile the hobos continued “openly consuming drugs.” They also “exhibited extremely aggressive behavior towards passersby.

Even after he was brutally attacked, police won’t do a single thing to prevent others from being attacked, including Carmignani’s mother. “the two other homeless people with Doty have remained in the ‘vicinity‘ of his mother’s home and one was apparently even spotted near the scene of his attack.” He grew up in the city and he’s furious.

This is unacceptable. As a native San Franciscan and lifelong Marina District resident, I firmly believe that the City needs to promote the safety of its law-abiding citizens over those who chose to do drugs and commit violent acts in our streets.” Meanwhile, they’re trying to figure out how to pay out $5 million in reparations to each eligible resident.
