Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has insisted that illegal aliens are the reason why Americans survived the COVID pandemic.
Ocasio-Cortez made the comments during an interview on Latino USA with host Maria Hinojosa, where they discussed the issue of illegal immigration.
During the discussion, the socialist congresswoman insisted that illegal aliens are “assets to the United States of America” — despite the fact that these individuals broke the law by entering the country illegally, often work under the table to avoid paying taxes, take money out of our economy to send back to their families in their home countries, and even commit horrific crimes against Americans.

“These are human beings, but they are also assets to the United States of America,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Now, when I move to the economic case, I want to say first that, yes, it is fraught, you know, because it is painful to see sometimes people only talk about the economic case because we’re more than just a labor force. We’re more than just a people to be exploited.”
She went on to claim that Americans who vote based on their opposition to illegal immigration lack compassion and do not see the “humanity” in illegal aliens. She also insisted, without elaborating, that illegal aliens somehow helped the American people survive COVID.
“And so if you want to be hard-nosed about it, understand that America’s immigration force and our community of immigrants, including and especially the millions of undocumented people in this country, are why America has prospered, especially why we survived the COVID-19 pandemic,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed.
She then claimed that deporting illegal aliens will make the prices of everyday goods skyrocket — effectively admitting that the Democrats support slave labor, as she is insinuating that prices will rise because companies will be forced to actually hire an American at a legitimate wage rather than paying illegals pennies.
“And for all of the people who cast a vote based on grocery prices and inflation, if you think your groceries are expensive now, wait until the farms are empty,” the socialist congresswoman added. “If you think houses are expensive now, wait until there’s no one building them.”
Ocasio-Cortez concluded the discussion by bizarrely stating that the United States not accepting illegal aliens was “the definition of cutting off your nose to spite your face.”
