United Auto Workers Member Declares Kamala ‘Existential Threat’

As Vice President Kamala Harris continues to hemorrhage union support, a United Auto Workers member has declared her to be an “existential threat.”

Harris is the first Democrat candidate in decades to not be endorsed by the extremely powerful Teamsters Union, and she has continued to lose union support ever since.

During a Saturday appearance on Newsmax TV’s “America Right,” United Auto Workers (UAW) member Brian Pannebecker argued that Harris represents the status quo that will probably be great for union bosses, but terrible for union members.

Pannebecker, the founder of Auto Workers for Trump, pointed out that a Harris presidency would help “corrupt union bosses.”

Newsmax host Tom Basile asked: “Why does your union leadership believe that a Harris presidency would be better for your industry and your workers than four more years of Donald Trump?”

“Because they’ll keep lining the pockets of our corrupt union bosses. That’s the only reason I can think of,” Pannebecker responded.

“I can tell you from my own experience, 36 years in the auto industry, 11 for Chrysler Corporation and 25 for Ford Motor Company, that the membership, the rank and file, the people on the shop floor do not support Kamala Harris,” he continued. “I know that for a fact because I do rallies outside of the auto plants every week during the election cycle, and I talk to the workers.”

He went on to explain that “support on the shop floor” for former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), is “65 to 70 percent.”

“They think they’re smarter — that their elites, and they should tell the membership what to do, not the other way around,” Pannebecker added. “But in the UAW, we’re facing an existential threat. If we allow Kamala Harris to become president, we’re going to lose our industry and lose our livelihoods.”

The “existential threat” that Pannebecker is referring to is Harris’ strong support for the destruction of the oil and gas industry, as the Biden-Harris administration has championed green energy spending at the cost of auto industry jobs. As The Post Millennial noted, “The Biden-Harris administration has been pushing green energy spending through the massive funding of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which President Joe Biden has suggested was all about green energy and climate change. Harris has touted the IRA as well as her move to be the tie-breaking vote on the bill.”

Meanwhile, Pannebecker’s comments about the difference between union members and leadership are supported by recent internal union polls, especially with the Teamsters. A poll of Teamsters Union members showed that a staggering 59.6% supported Trump compared to just 34% for Harris. But the union leadership refused to recognize this poll, choosing instead not to issue any endorsement for the presidential race. The double standard was shocking, as the Teamsters leadership stated that they would not endorse because the polls “showed no majority support for Vice President Harris and no universal support among the membership for President Trump” — meaning that a Democrat endorsement needed only a majority, but a Republican endorsement needed “universal support.”

This poll revealed the truth about unions, which is exactly what Pannebecker suggested — their bosses are Democrat sycophants who refuse to let their members determine their chosen candidate.
