The lawyer representing one of Hunter Biden’s former lovers says that the president’s son will likely be indicted soon for tax fraud.
According to a statement given to CNBC on Thursday, March 17th, by attorney Clint Lancaster, Hunter Biden may be seeing an indictment soon.
“I expect him to be indicted,” Lancaster told CNBC on Thursday. “Just based on what I saw in his financial records, I would be surprised if he’s not indicted.”
Clint Lancaster is currently representing former stripper Lunden “Dallas” Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden’s three year old daughter.
According to the lawyer, he is basing his prediction on the “significant amount of Hunter’s financial records” that Roberts had turned over to the federal investigators.
Hunter Biden revealed in December of 2020 that federal prosecutors in Delaware were “investigating [his] tax affairs.”
The New York Times has reported that the federal investigation is looking into whether Biden broke laws on foreign lobbying and money laundering. Biden had numerous shadowy foreign business dealings, including with the corrupt Ukrainian energy company Burisma, while his father, Joe Biden, was vice president under Barack Obama.
“I had his Burisma pay records,” Lancaster said in the statement to CNBC, referring to the records his client gave to federal investigators. “I had records of ultimately what Burisma paid into the United States.”
Hunter Biden, who refused to acknowledge his child with Lunden Roberts until a DNA test confirmed his paternity, has not “seen his daughter with Roberts or expressed an interest in doing so,” according to Lancaster.
Still, the child’s grandfather still refuses to acknowledge her existence. As of December 2021, Joe Biden still refused to acknowledge that he has a seventh grandchild, and won’t answer any questions about her.
The White House declined CNBC’s request for comment.
