A Muslim illegal alien arrested for shooting an Orthodox Jewish man in Chicago was reportedly planning terrorist attacks against Jewish institutions in the area.
On October 26, the 39-year-old visibly Jewish victim was walking to synagogue in the 2900 block of West Farwell Avenue in Chicago when 22-year-old illegal alien Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi opened fire at him from behind. The victim told investigators that he had heard the shots and felt pain in his shoulder, but didn’t understand that he had been shot until he saw a hole in his jacket.
Cameras in the area caught the shooting on video, and caught Abdallahi shouting “Allahu Akbar.” He was seen running away from the scene while trying to clear his pistol, which reportedly jammed. Abdallahi then returned to the scene on foot to get his vehicle, where he fired two shots at police officers and paramedics who had arrived at the scene to aid the victim. He ended up in a firefight with the police, hitting an ambulance twice, then getting shot by police.

On Friday, prosecutors announced that Abdallahi had previously mapped out the locations of local synagogues, Jewish schools, and community centers in the predominantly Jewish area of West Rogers Park before he attempted to murder the Jewish victim.
At the detention hearing, prosecutors revealed that the terrorist used his cellphone to identify these potential targets and search for a gun store and firing range to practice. Data from Abdallahi’s phone showed that he had saved locations of synagogues and conducted internet searches for “Jewish Community Center” in the days before the attack. His phone also reportedly contained hundreds of antisemitic and pro-Hamas videos.

Illinois Assistant State’s attorney Anne McCord Rodgers explained: “This was not anything but a planned attack … an attempted assassination of these people. This was a calculated plan, on a public street… and an attempted slaughter of that person and law enforcement officers.”
“This was a targeted attack against the Jewish community,” she added.
Of course, officials initially refused to acknowledge that it was an Islamic terrorist attack, but they have since changed their tune. The local officials were slammed for refusing to deem the attack a hate crime or terrorism, and for refusing to even acknowledge that the Muslim terrorist shouted “Allahu Akbar” despite video evidence.

It has since been confirmed that Abdallahi was in the U.S. for two years prior to the attack and is a Muslim illegal alien from Mauritania. It is unclear whether the initial attack was part of his planned string of attacks or whether it was just a crime of opportunity when he saw an openly Jewish man on the street.
