After her husband proudly posted what some people labelled an “offensive” picture of her, Kelly Ripa’s fans had a lot to say. Mark Consuelos decided to take a picture of Ripa sporting a bikini while standing in the water with the caption, “Sultry Sundays with the sexy one are my fave…”
When Mark posted an Instagram photo of his wife in a bikini on the beach, some social media users were offended. One Instagram user commented that Kelly looks like a “12-year-old boy” in her swimsuit, while another said that there was an “age cutoff” when it comes to wearing bikinis.
It’s clear these comments were based solely on Kelly’s age and not her stunning figure.
Mark initially decided he wanted to stay above the fray by ignoring these hurtful comments, but after some time he decided that enough was enough – he put those naysayers back into their place with an eloquent statement defending his beautiful wife: “I posted this pic of the women I most admire as a playful tribute to my wife who I’m proud of in endless ways. She works extremely hard in her professional life and her commitment to exercise, healthy diet is admirable and the benefits show,” he wrote.
He continued by emphasizing how amazing his wife looks at 47: “Yes she’s wearing a bikini at age 47 and will no doubt wear one for many years to come.”
Not only did Mark defend his wife against those malicious comments, but earlier this year when someone questioned how tall Mark was (and subsequently called him short), Kelly had the perfect response: “He’s tall where it counts babe.”
Let’s be honest here – there aren’t many 47-year-old women out there who wouldn’t die for Kelly Ripa’s body. Clearly she is the perfect example of hard work paying off, having achieved her body through dedication to exercise and healthy eating habits.
