Let the videos be shown. Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy declared on Fox that “the American people should be allowed to see all surveillance footage from the Capitol Building that day and form their own opinions.”
Tucker Carlson’s revelations proved that we can’t trust the evidence “the Democratic-controlled committee previously released.”
McCarthy has been taking heat for giving Carlson a peek at the videos but insists it’s really not a big deal. Since Democrats were so freaked out by that, he’s passing the footage out to everyone.

Fox notes that “His comments came amid some backlash after McCarthy allowed Fox News’ Tucker Carlson the opportunity to see tens of thousands of hours of never-before-seen video, some of which appeared to show moments of armed security peacefully escorting protesters throughout the Capitol building.” It was nowhere near as violent as Nancy Pelosi wanted everyone to think.
“I didn’t give [Carlson] the tapes, I allowed him to come see them, just like an exclusive with anybody else. My goal here is transparency,” McCarthy explained. “We will slowly roll out to every individual news agency [so] they could come see the tapes as well.”
Nobody saw any of the videos until Tucker Carlson aired them. What they show stands in marked contrast to what all of America watched on TV all during 2020.

Watched cities burn
McCarthy compared the protests at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 to “the violent racial protests and others that escalated into attacks on structures and police in the preceding summer.” McCarthy remembers the images plastered across everyone’s screen. “Why did I watch cities burn and nobody arrested there? I think we should have equal justice across this country, and we should have transparency.”
Contrary to liberal beliefs, White people are as upset about rogue cops who terrorize innocent citizens as people of color are. Let the videos speak for themselves. “I think transparency is best and allow the American public to see it all. And we need to have equal justice across this nation.”
Carlson turned his production staff loose on over 40,000 hours of videos from the barbarian invasion. It seems more like a pleasantly conducted private tour. Police were everywhere but they weren’t trying to arrest or even hinder anyone.

They answered questions and posed for selfies with the allegedly violent insurrectionists. The clips Carlson aired ignited a firestorm of controversy on social media.
After Carlson got to take a look at the hidden videos, he “concluded they prove certain lawmakers and some members of the media were ‘lying‘ about the events of that day.” The footage, he pointed out, “has been hidden from the public for over two years.” The only reason why is because it “appeared to dispel several narratives pushed by the Democrat-controlled House Select Committee.”
Jake Chansley, the Q-Anon Shaman wants a new trial. Then there is the narrative around the police officer who was attacked and later died. “This tape overturns the single most powerful and politically useful lie that Democrats told us about January 6th.” That would be “footage of Sicknick guiding Trump supporters throughout the Capitol after he was allegedly hit by a fire extinguisher.“
