U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland was tossed to the wolves recently as he faced a series of difficult questions before Congress regarding his knowledge and involvement in the prosecution of Hunter Biden. Garland desperately tried to deflect blame to U.S. Attorney David Weiss for slow-walking the case during his testimony and refused to state whether he had discussed the case internally with Weiss or anyone else involved in the investigation.
This has caused a great deal of suspicion and distrust among Republican lawmakers who are concerned that political interference may be taking place at the highest levels of government in order to shield Hunter Biden from facing any legal consequences for his alleged crimes.
Why can't Biden AG Merrick Garland unequivocally say he has not discussed the Hunter Biden criminal probe with Special Counsel David Weiss — especially in light of whistleblower testimony of political interference? pic.twitter.com/js4AVFd4Sd

One of the most heated exchanges during Garland’s testimony took place between him and Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA) over FBI whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joe Ziegler who testified before Congress that Weiss refused to be “the deciding official” on whether Hunter should face charges for various tax crimes stretching back to 2014.
When asked if this was true, Garland evaded answering directly by claiming their description of process as cumbersome was simply an opinion instead of a factual statement, further raising suspicion amongst Republican lawmakers about attempts being made by those in power to interfere with justice being served fairly in this case.
This past summer, allegations began circulating that the Justice Department was considering dropping all charges against Hunter which prompted AG Garland to abruptly reverse course on his stance regarding Weiss’ decision making authority within this case.
Furthermore, when questioned by Representative Dan Bishop (R-NC) as to why other US attorneys allowed the statute of limitations for some of these alleged crimes committed by Hunter Biden to expire without any consequence, AG Garland again refused and gave an ambiguous answer stating it is up to individual prosecutors discretion whether or not they bring forth charges.
Even though there seems to be overwhelming evidence proving that President Joe Biden participated in business activities with his son overseas which could potentially lead him down a path towards impeachment proceedings begun by House Republicans based on those findings alone.
.@RepDanBishop: "The DOJ permitted statutes of limitations to expire…Do you not even know as you sit here whether it occurred or not?!"
