Pizza Guy Catches Armed Fugitive, Saves the Day

The rapid responder for Cocco’s Pizza Aston didn’t even let the cheese slip on his customer’s order. Thanks to some fast footwork, delivery driver Tyler Morrell helped capture a fugitive suspect.

Pizza driver moves fast

In Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, local police are thanking pizza delivery driver Tyler Morrell for the assist he gave them Sunday afternoon. A home security camera filmed the whole thing as he tripped “a suspect being chased by police.

Around 3 p.m. on April 16, Tyler drove up with his customer’s pie, expecting to make a routine delivery. “Thank you sir for the assist!!!” BPD posted on social media, along with the video. “If you’re interested in a job we are always looking for good people.

The homeowner was more than happy to allow the video from their doorbell camera to be shared around. The heroic moment deserves to be seen across America.

Morrell is seen pulling up and exiting his car, pizza in hand. As he’s on his way up the sidewalk toward the front door, he noticed some commotion across the street.

At the same time he arrived with the order, he saw “police cars chasing a dark-colored vehicle.” Even more attention grabbing, the car was plowing across the lawn of the home across the street.

Morrell and the pizza headed that direction for a better look just as the “suspect can be seen jumping out of the vehicle and running across the street.” Straight toward Tyler.

Nabbed by police

Calmly, Morrell is seen retreating a couple of steps before decisively lunging, still holding the pizza level as a still lake, to stick out his foot, tripping the fleeing suspect. One who police determined was armed.

As the suspect briefly tried to fly then landed heavily, police swarmed in to pick him back up. The young hero didn’t think it was a big deal, he just did what he needed to do.

Honestly, I didn’t really think about doing anything but stepping in. I was raised to step in if you see something that’s not right. So, I just wanted to do my part.

He chuckled as he noted he was trying his best to “prevent the cheese from sliding” on the pizza. By the time it arrived to the rightful owner, it was “completely unharmed and enjoyed.

Cocco’s Pizza even mentioned that on their Facebook page. Police aren’t providing details on the suspect. They haven’t said why they were chasing him in the first place.

Whatever it was, the suspect never counted on such quick thinking from a total stranger who just happened to be at the right place at exactly the right time.
