If you feel like you’re experiencing a sense of deja vu here, then you’d be correct…we’ve seen this before, haven’t we?
Again, U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-NY) was seen freezing up while in the middle of a press conference, and it was all captured on video.
The 81-year-old politician was attending a GOP leadership press conference at the time; this latest medical episode only further puts the future of his career into question.
At the press conference, McConnell was asked about his plans to run again in 2026 but seemingly froze up and appeared disoriented when responding to the question.
After an aide repeated the question a few times, his staff quickly intervened and ended the event without providing any clarification on McConnell’s condition.
McConnell also faced similar episodes in July while at another press briefing as well as back in March when he was hospitalized after sustaining injuries from a fall during dinner at a Washington hotel – which included a concussion and fractured ribs that were reportedly more severe than initially reported.
Given these recent incidents, speculation has been swirling about whether or not McConnell will be running again for his seventh term come 2026 with many wondering if he is physically able to continue serving as a political leader.
Although there have been no official announcements made yet from either him or his team regarding this matter, this episode adds even further uncertainty into what could possibly be ahead.
This incident comes after many people have called for McConnell to step down from his political role because of his age and medical status.
