Sheriff Slams Kamala For Using Him In Border Security Ad

Sheriff Slams Kamala For Using Him

One California sheriff is outraged after Vice President Kamala Harris used his image in an outrageous campaign ad claiming that she is tough on border security and crime.

The Harris campaign released an ad earlier this week that was hilariously mocked on social media, as she attempted to portray herself as pro-border security despite serving as vice president in the most pro-open borders administration in history.

That ad showed Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux in the background, which left the sheriff shocked and angry.

Speaking to Fox News, Boudreaux slammed Harris for using his image without permission — confirming that he does not support Harris’ candidacy for president and pointing out that she never cared about border security when she served as California Attorney General.

“In light of a recent political ad put out by Kamala Harris featuring Sheriff Boudreaux, as well as other local law enforcement, the Sheriff wants to make it abundantly clear that his image is being used without his permission, and he does NOT endorse Harris for President or any other political office,” the sheriff wrote in a statement to the outlet.

Boudreaux especially took issue with the voice-over in the part of the ad where he is depicted, as the image is from when Harris stopped in Central Valley over ten years ago and claims that she “took on drug cartels” and “jailed gang members for smuggling weapons and drugs across the border.”

Responding to those claims, the sheriff stated: “As a matter of fact, I would like to point out the misleading information projected in that same political ad. The truth is, Harris never cared about the cartels and did nothing to stop people from illegally crossing the border.”

Boudreaux, who is a 37-year-veteran of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and former president of the California State Sheriffs’ Association, went on to note that Harris is trying to take credit for efforts made by local law enforcement.

“We were in the green room. She never came in and said hello to any of us. She walked up front, gave her presser, literally walked out, never said hi to any of us,” he explained. “I’m disgusted because, you know, she didn’t shake hands. She didn’t say hello. And she’s taken credit for all this work that the locals did.”

Boudreaux characterized the ad as “all smoke and mirrors,” noting that the portrayal of Harris as a tough “border state prosecutor” is the complete opposite of the truth.

Fox News also obtained a statement about the ad from a PAC supporting Boudreaux, Golden State Justice.

“She repeatedly defunded and shuttered task forces designed to protect our residents, leaving the Valley and our state vulnerable,” the PAC’s statement read. “Kamala’s sad attempt to paint herself as tough on the border by implying my support – and the support of neighboring law enforcement leaders – is pathetic.”

Boudreaux also appeared on Newsmax to discuss Harris’ false ad.
