Pentagon Has Relieved Them ALL of Duty

ICYMI – The Pentagon announced a major shakeup in leadership at its North Dakota base.

Two commanding officers and four leadership positions were all relieved of duty.

The officers were removed for what the Pentagon is citing as a “loss of confidence.”

You Have Been Relieved

Maj. Gen. Andrew J. Gebara, commander of the 8th Air Force, relieved Col. Gregory Mayer of the 5th Mission Support Group and Maj. Jonathan Welch of the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron, both based at Minot Air Force Base.

The Air Force did not post the names of the officers, however, a spokesperson did confirm the identities with Task & Purpose.

Gebara stated, “These personnel actions were necessary to maintain the very high standards we demand of those units entrusted with supporting our Nation’s nuclear mission.”

The four leadership positions were relieved “due to a loss of confidence in their ability to complete their assigned duties.”

Exactly why the Air Force had a loss of confidence in their abilities was not explained.

This base is the home of the B-52H Stratofortress aircraft, one of the two aircraft the Air Force uses for nuclear weapons payloads.

The “loss of confidence” was cited when commanders were being relieved over COVID, but that mandate has been lifted.

Is this about pushing back against the new woke agenda of this administration or were these officers truly not performing their duties as officers in leadership?

We are definitely going to keep our eyes open on this for an explanation.
