Trump Endorsed Candidate Takes The Win For Primary

Kari Lake is the winner of the Republican Primary for the Arizona gubernatorial race.

A local Television News Star, Lake came out swinging in her campaign garnering her an early lead and an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.

Lake defeated businesswoman Karrin Taylor Robson in the primary. Robson was endorsed by Governor Doug Ducey and former Vice President Mike Pence.

After the results began to trickle in Robson had a wide margin for several hours. By Wednesday morning, however, the votes had flipped to favor Lake. Yet it remained “too close to call” until Thursday evening. The Decision Desk called the race for Lake at 9:52 EST Thursday evening.

The Arizona race was being closely watched due to Trump’s kingmaker power. Specifically, since the race was against his former second-in-command.

A senior Pence adviser, Marc Short pointed out in a text to Politico that Lake has a questionable past when coming from conservative ideologies’. She previously supported former President Barack Obama and there have been controversies over past social media posts, including multiple photos with drag queens. Short claimed that Lake was “perpetrating a fraud on Arizona Republican primary voters who ultimately will not be distracted by a parade of clowns at the circus.”

In Pence’s endorsement of Robson, the former VP said She is “the best choice for Arizona’s future,” adding that he is “proud to support her.”

Phoenix resident Meghan McMackin spoke to Timcast reporter Adrian Norman outside a polling facility and explained that she was there to vote because of “the state of our country and the state of Arizona, we really just need some great leadership here.”

McMackin stated that her top issues for this election were the border and education.

“I think for me personally, a secure border and education. And just figuring out what is actually being taught in schools,” McMackin said.

According to the biography on her campaign website Lake was a top anchor on Fox 10 News in Phoenix for 27 years, an industrious career that she walked away from to enter politics. She says that Trump was her inspiration.

“My commitment to the great people of this state is to always put Arizona First, just as he put America First,” Lake said in a statement.

Lake gains the former Presidents endorsement in September.

“Few can take on the Fake News Media like Kari,” the statement from Trump read.

“She is strong on Crime, will protect our Border, Second Amendment, Military, and Vets, and will fight to restore Election Integrity (both past and future!),” Trump continued. “She is against Covid lockdowns, Cancel Culture, and will end ‘woke’ curriculum in our schools. She will do a far better job than RINO Governor Doug Ducey–won’t even be a contest!”

In addition to Trump, Lake was also endorsed by Gen. Mike Flynn, Rudy Giuliani, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Larry Elder, Kash Patel, Rep. Paul Gosar, Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers, the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police, Mike Lindell, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Dean Cain, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and many others.

Lake now faces off against Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who won the Democratic primary, in the November midterm elections.
