Among the nameless multitude of American citizens whom the Biden-Harris regime has abandoned to survive the depredations of the Taliban regime are 29 students from the Sacramento, California area. And where in other cities like San Diego, where Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) has been working hard and communicating with his constituents and the State Department to bring home their families trapped in Afghanistan, no such announcements or efforts have come from the Office of his Democrat Counterpart in Sacramento Rep. Ami Bera. These American students are stranded, abandoned by the government sworn to protect them, behind enemy lines.
According to OANN,
“Officials with the San Juan Unified School District in Sacramento confirmed a total of 29 students are stuck in Afghanistan and they’re doing everything they can to help them. In addition, dozens of students from San Diego County were also stranded in Afghanistan and have been gradually returning to the U.S.”
The School Board Taking Point, While Congress Waits
The family and friends of the 29 students have been making increasingly desperate pleas for help getting the students home to safety but their plaintive calls seem to be falling on deaf ears.
Raj Rai, director of communications for the district, said
“We can confirm that we currently have 29 students, from 19 families, in Afghanistan,”
“San Juan Unified stands with our Afghan community and all those whose loved ones are currently in Afghanistan,”
“We sincerely hope for their speedy and safe return back to the U.S. and back to our school communities,” Rai said.
The Washington Examiner reported, “The district is coordinating with congressional offices and state officials to process information from the trapped and Taliban -surrounded Americans, he added.”
Has Bera Been Ineffective Or Is He Being Stonewalled?
In spite of a complete lack of commentary via Twitter or his office’s press releases, The office of Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA.) told The New York Daily News that “his office was in contact with the San Juan Unified School District and has informed the Department of Defense and State Department about the students left behind.”
With Bera’s communication director Travis Horne saying, “We are pushing the DOD and State for an update,” But if Bera or his people are making any efforts to expedite the students’ return then they’re being extremely quiet about it.
Fox News filled in the blanks that Rep. Bera’s office has apparently been getting the cold-shoulder from Biden’s DoD and Dept. of State. They wrote,
“Bera’s office on Tuesday confirmed in an email to Fox News that it “urgently flagged this with the Department of Defense and State Department” but had “not received an update from DOD or State.” The congresswoman’s office confirmed on Wednesday morning that it still had not heard from anyone within the Biden administration.”
Meanwhile, Bera seems to have been busy singing Biden’s praises,
The Abandoned 29 Students From 16 Families Wait
Loved ones in Sacramento have been doing everything possible to bring home two young girls that went to Afghanistan for their father’s funeral in July and now find themselves trapped. They’re in regular communication with the family home they’re staying at in Kabul and report that they cannot return and have been threatened by the Taliban.
“They went to Afghanistan because of their dad’s funeral and they really need help,” A friend of the girls’ told the press.
“She said to me all airport closed because the Taliban in Afghanistan,”
Does this sound like a case of people who were given “every opportunity” but chose to stay behind? The silence from Bera’s office seems to be a silence of frustration, but the silence from the Biden-Harris regime is negligent and deafening.
