Over the first few days of the Trump fraud trial in New York, it has become quite apparent that the case is far weaker than we initially thought.
It has gotten to the point that even some mainstream media outlets are questioning if Letitia James went too far in this prosecution.
Numerous legal pundits have ripped her over this case, including constitutional expert and law professor, Jonathan Turley.
Too Far
James ran her campaign on prosecuting Trump… that was it.
At the time, she had stated, “I will be shining a bright light into every dark corner of his real estate dealings, and every dealing, demanding truthfulness at every turn.”
Now, keep in mind, at the time, crime rates were rising in New York, but her main campaign promise was to prosecute Trump, even though she had not seen any evidence at that point.
What is worse is those idiots that live in New York actually elected her.
With bogus property valuations, Judge Engoron revoked Trump’s business license and ordered his businesses into receivership.
These were all extreme measures that never would have happened against someone who was not named Trump.
Turley stated, “[N]ot mentioning what he might be charged with, [James said] I’m just going to charge him with something.
“That should be an embarrassment to the entire New York bar.
“I think that [Alvin] Bragg should be an embarrassment.
“His case is, in my view, just ridiculous. It barely holds together.”
He later added, “She’s really developed the signature that she will use all of the levers of her office to go against political opponents.”
These cases were never about actually winning, however.
I believe most of the cases were brought against Trump simply to tie him up during the election and drain his cash.
And if that was their end game, they are being quite successful.
