Donald Trump has taken yet another loss in the 2024 election.
The results from Alaska have finally trickled in, and they are not good.
Sarah Palin lost her House race, but a second loss was even more devastating.
Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) managed to rally and pull the race out in the latter stages of counting, sending Trump’s candidate packing.
Ranked-Choice
In the early stages of voting, Kelly Tshibaka held a considerable lead.
As mail-in voting came into play, her lead started to disappear, but Murkowski did not have the needed 50 percent.
After the first round of second-choice voting, there was still no victor.
By the end of the second round, Murkowski finally went over the threshold, winning the race 53.7 to 46.3.
Adding insult to injury, this race cost Republicans considerable money, as Senator McConnell (R-KY) decided to pour about $40 million into this race to support Murkowski.
He did this knowing that the two Republicans were favored in the race, assuring the GOP of locking down this seat.
Now we are left to wonder how much that money could have made a difference in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona.
These were all seats that were very close, where that money could have put the candidate over the top, only those candidates were all supported by Trump, which is why McConnell ignored them.
