A Florida woman has been arrested after leading police on a dramatic car chase through a golf course, sending many golfers jumping out of the way as she sped through the fairway.
Jodi Ann Harvey, 60, was driving through the Waterford Lakes community of Vero Beach at around 1 p.m. when officers attempted to pull her over for a traffic stop. When she failed to pull over, police began a pursuit.
Harvey then broke through a gate at the Grand Harbor Golf Course, leading at least two police vehicles from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office to follow her onto the property.
From the dash cam footage, golfers can been seen running away and jumping out of the way of her vehicle as she drove through the golf course.
Harvey was eventually boxed in by the police, who used a PIT maneuver to do so. She jumped out of her car before they could get to her, putting her hands up and getting on her knees. Harvey can be seen on the dash cam footage taking her cell phone out and attempting to use it before officers take her down onto the ground.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the chase. The police department has reported that Harvey’s vehicle and both of the sheriff’s office vehicles sustained damage during the chase.
Harvey is being held at the county jail, and her bond has been listed at $411,000.
She is being charged with driving under the influence, two felony counts of criminal mischief, aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Harvey will make an appearance in court on January 28, 2022.
