There is new technology about to be introduced at airports that is not going to sit well with a lot of people.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced that it will be introducing facial recognition technology at certain airports on a test basis.
If the software works properly, we can expect this technology in every airport across the country.
Taking Jobs, Taking Data
The concern here is obviously biometrics being taken by TSA then used in other ways.
I cannot help but think of the movie “Enemy of the State” as I read through this report.
Among the first airports to receive the technology at the start of the program will be airports in Atlanta, Boston, and Los Angeles.

If the technology works, then we start to slowly see TSA agents eliminated from the screening process.
Basically, the only time you will have interaction with an agent would be in there was a problem with the ID matching the facial scan.
With so many data breaches having happened over the last decade, can you imagine what will happen the first time there is a TSA data breach with all this biometric information stored in it?
Of course, the government says that will not be an issue because TSA will not be storing or using the information for any other purpose, but does anyone really trust the government on this front?
